Location
Training takes place at the stunning Chandelier Game Lodge & Private
Eco Reserve. This 3500 hectare reserve is situated 7 kilometres from
the country town of Oudtshoorn in the heart of the Little Karoo. Home
to the world famous Cango Caves, this region of the Western Cape is
malaria free, with remarkable landscapes and an abundance of wildlife.

The nature reserve boasts a variety of flora and fauna; Fynbos in
the mountains, riverine thicket, Karoo veld and a wide range of
succulents; the rare Sable Antelope, Nyala, Giraffe, Kudu, Lechwe,
Bontebok, Red Hartebeest, Springbuck, Zebra and more.

Reptiles are commonly found on the reserve during summer months, including
Leopard Tortoise, Tented Tortoise and Angulate Tortoise, as well as a
variety of lizards, skinks and agamas. The bird life in the Little Karoo
is spectacular and the nature reserve is well known for birds of prey
such as the Pale Chanting Goshawk, Jackal Buzzard and Black Eagle.

The Little Karoo is truly unique, and is regarded as one of the world’s
environmental hot spots. A number of properties in the region have
already been purchased by WWF for conservation purposes. Besides the
dramatic landscape and diversity of wildlife, Oudtshoorn is ideally
located within 45 minutes drive from the nearest airport, world famous
Garden Route and some of the most pristine beaches in the country. This
is an opportunity to study in one of the most undiscovered and unspoilt
regions of South Africa.
